Undergraduate students are invited to serve on the Student Handbook and/or Student Sanctioning Committee to help update policies by benchmarking other schools and researching new trends. Undergraduate students on the committee are afforded the opportunity to provide opinions, give feedback, and are encouraged to engage in the process. The process allows for shared governance with the student body concerning the addition of new policies or edits to existing policies.

The Student Handbook Committee and Student Sanctioning Committee is led by the Director of Community Standards in Campus Life and Community Engagement and co-chaired by the Community Standards Graduate Assistant.

Undergraduate students are paired into small groups with volunteer leaders. The small groups read through Springfield College policies, research and benchmark other school policies, review campus and national trends, and present their findings and suggestions to Campus Life and Community Engagement leadership.
