Review the letter sent to you. Pay close attention to the section listing the charges with a corresponding number in the Student Handbook. For example, Failure to Comply 3.8.1.10
Review the Student Handbook and review the description corresponding to your alleged charge.
For example, Failure to Comply 3.8.1.10 - Failure to comply with the instructions and/or requests of College staff and/or other officials acting in accordance with their assigned duties; refusal to respond to a request of an administrative officer.

Review the Support Person and Accommodation information at the bottom of your letter. If you would like a support person or need accommodations, follow the links.
Review the Student Handbook and become familiar with your rights and responsibilities found in sections 3.6 and 3.7.

Be prepared to share the incident in your own words at the administrative hearing. It might help to write down some key ideas and thoughts to share about the incident from your perspective.
Be prepared to hear the reports or information the College received that led to the alleged charges being applied, as mentioned in Step #1.
Take a peek at the potential sanctions for the charge/s listed. You can view possible sanctions in section 3.13 of the Student Handbook. Please note that not all charges or sanctions are listed.

Write down any questions you would like answered and bring it with you. You will have plenty of opportunities to ask questions. Be prepared for some questions to be answered before you have a moment to ask.
Think about what you would do differently next time and be prepared to have this conversation with the administrative hearing officer.
If this case could result in the loss of housing, suspension, or expulsion, all redacted documents will be sent to you before the administrative hearing.
