  • Pubic Safety

    Sworn Police Staff:

Our POST Certified police officers are on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to respond to emergencies, patrol the campus, and provide assistance whenever needed. Springfield College police officers are granted their authority through the Massachusetts State Police (MSP) under the Special State Police Officers (SSPO).

Dispatch Center and Community Service Officers (CSOs):

Our telecommunicators (Dispatchers) provide constant communication with our officers, outside agencies and you. While on shift, our dispatchers maintain a log of calls, share information and monitor other police agencies, alarm systems and CCTV monitors. They also assist with issuing parking permit as needed.

In addition to our officers, Community Service Officers (CSOs) patrol the campus on foot, providing a visible presence and assisting with tasks like responding to medical emergencies.

    Additional Services:

The Department of Public Safety offers a range of services to support our campus community, including: Community Engagement: Planning or attending events on campus, Educational Programs: Workshops and training sessions to promote campus safety and awareness, Vehicle Assistance: Help with vehicle registration, enabling you to park on campus.
