On-Campus Safety and Security Measures:

Springfield College is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for our community. In addition to our established emergency procedures, we have implemented comprehensive safety measures:

  • 1. Patrol and Presence

Our officers patrol the campus grounds in marked police cruisers, on foot, and on bicycles. We encourage all members of the community to approach our officers at any time with concerns or questions.

  • 2. Access Control Systems

Residence Halls and several academic buildings utilize electronic ID access systems to ensure secure entry.

3. Security Cameras

Entrances to most campus buildings, as well as the new soccer field and track, are monitored by security cameras.

4. Emergency Blue Telephones

Emergency telephones, marked by blue lights, are strategically located throughout the campus. You can find them near residence halls, the track, Harold C. Smith Learning Commons, Portsmouth Street Warehouse, and the Brennan Center.

  • 5. Crime Prevention and Awareness

The College conducts regular crime prevention and awareness programs within the residence halls to educate students about staying safe.

  • 6. Safety Escorts

Safety escorts are available 24/7. To request an escort anywhere on campus, call the Department of Public Safety at (413) 748-3516.

7. Shuttle Service – The Pride Ride

During the academic year, Springfield College’s Transportation Office offers the "Pride Ride" shuttle service on Friday and Saturday evenings. This service operates on a fixed route throughout the main campus to ensure safe transportation for students.
