Springfield College’ Building Access Control (BAC) Policy (SCID Access System)
Policy Statement:
Springfield College is committed to maintaining a safe and secure campus environment and complying with all applicable federal and state laws, including the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act ("Clery Act"). To support this commitment, the College utilizes the Springfield College Identification Card (SCID) system to manage and control access to designated campus buildings.
As part of the College's building security program, certain facilities operate under a controlled-access model, where entry is limited to authorized individuals based on role, approved purpose, assigned permissions, and designated hours or events conditions.
This Policy establishes standards for access control, accountability, credential use, and overall building security. It also authorizes the College to grant, restrict, monitor, modify, or revoke access as necessary to support safety, security, and operational needs.
