  • How do I reset my Springfield College password?

    Follow the instructions posted here.

  • Is there a recommended computer?

    ITS does not recommend a specific brand or type of computer, but your major may have software requirements that make one operating system or configuration more suitable for you.  A conversation with your advisor is HIGHLY recommended.

    Here are some general guidelines:

    • Apple and Windows devices are supported more extensively by ITS.
    • Chromebooks have more limited software support and may not be compatible with all program requirements.
    • If your device no longer receives cybersecurity updates from the manufacturer or operating system vendor, ITS support will also be very limited, as the device will be considered obsolete.

  • How to access a Brightspace course?

    You’ll gain access to Brightspace, our online Learning Management System (LMS), shortly after registering for your first class, or once you’re assigned to a course as an instructor.

  • Who do I contact about computer issues?

    Contact the Technical Service Center (TSC) in the Learning Commons. Contact information, hours of operation, and more can be found on the TechHelp homepage.

  • How do I access my Springfield College email from my phone?

    You can always access you're college email through the web by using the link on the TechHelp homepage and on the PrideNET homepage.

    You can also set up your college email on your phone, tablet, or computer. However, since each device and operating system is different, here are some generic instructions. For more specific instructions, refer to your device’s support pages for setting up a Google account on it.

    For Apple iOS (iPhone, iPad)

    1. Go to Settings > Mail, then tap Accounts.
    2. Tap Add Account, then select your email provider, Google.
    3. Enter your full Springfield College email (@springfieldcollege.edu) address and tap Next.
    4. Next you will be redirect to the Springfield College login page will appear, login as normal with your username and password (or MFA if enabled)
    5. If you see Next, tap Next and wait for Mail to verify your account.
    6. If you see Save, tap Save.

    For Android

    1. Open the App Drawer.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Go to Accounts > Add account, and then select Google.
    4. At this point, you may be asked for a password, fingerprint, or pattern.
    5. You’ve arrived at the Add your account screen, so enter your Springfield College email address (@springfieldcollege.edu) and tap Next.
    6. Then, enter your password and tap Next.
    7. Select Agree on the Terms of Service page.
    8. Next you will be redirect to the Springfield College login page will appear, login as normal with your username and password (or MFA if enabled)
  • How do I print?

    You can use the “Follow me Print” print cloud service by visiting https://papercut.springfield.edu/user and using your College credentials to log in. Alternatively, you can visit the Learning Commons and print by using one of the computers in the lab.

    Black and white printers can be found:

    • Brennan Center - computer lab, mail room
    • Campus Union - main floor lobby, cafe
    • Health Sciences Center - 1st floor

  • What Internet browsers does ITS support?

    ITS supports the latest versions of Microsoft Edge, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari across Windows, Apple devices, Android devices, and Chromebooks. While most web applications work with these browsers, some may recommend or require a specific browser. In those cases, ITS will inform you of the best browser to use but will strive to support all the listed browsers whenever possible.

  • Can I still log into Brightspace, Google, Zoom etc. if I cannot access PrideNET?

    Yes.  Links to most major systems are availible on either the main public Springfield College ITS website here: https://springfield.edu/its or on the TechHelp page here: https://mypridenet.springfield.edu/techhelp.  Neither pages require a username and password to access.

  • How does a student access Cable TV/Xfinity On-Campus?

    All residential students automatically have access to Xfinity On-Campus. The service allows students to watch their favorite live TV shows, movies, sporting events, and on-demand content anytime, anywhere on campus. Additionally, students can also watch over 90 TV Everywhere channels when off-campus. This streaming service works on smartphones, tablets, computers, some Smart TVs, Roku streaming devices, and Apple TVs.

  • How long does the College keep my Google Workspace files and email?

    As long as you remain an active student or employee, you have access to your Google Workspace files and email, provided there’s free space in your account. The College will not delete any data permanently without notifying you.

    For Students: Before graduating or leaving the college, it’s essential to transfer any important files and emails to a personal account. After graduation, alumni retain access only to their College email account; access to Google Workspace, Office 365, and other services will be discontinued.

    For Employees: If you work with files previously owned by a former employee or alumnus, please ensure ownership is transferred to you or another current employee to secure long-term access.

    Additionally:

    • Any account with a password that has been expired for over 24 months will be considered abandoned, and data in those accounts will be deleted without notification as required.
    • The College will communicate any significant changes to data retention policies through your College email.

    Taking these steps will help you retain your important data and avoid any unexpected loss.

  • How do I get an ID card?

    New Students

    Step One: Log on to https://ceres.springfield.edu using your Springfield College Username and Password.  If the website doesn't work for you, just email the photo in the next step to cardoffice@springfield.edu.

    Step Two: Click on Upload Photo. This will be the picture you choose to be on your Springfield College ID Card.

    Requirments for photo:

    • Background MUST be SOLID white or light color.
    • Face and shoulders must face forward.
    • NO sunglasses, hats or anyone else in photo.
    • Photo must be a color JPEG, minimum of 2 x 3 inches.
    • File should not exceed 400 KB.
    • Submit ONLY one photo at a time.

    Step Three: Click on Upload Identification: Please note this needs to be a picture of your driver's license, passport, High School ID, or other issued photo ID.

    Once your online photo is accepted, your photo will appear on your Springfield College ID Card EXACTLY as submitted. The ID Office is NOT able to make any modifications.

    Typically your ID will be given to you at the start of classes or when you first move into your residence hall.

    Faculty & Staff

    Main campus faculty & staff will receive their card during the orientation process.

    Replacement IDs

    Replacement IDs can be requested by emailing cardoffice@springfield.edu.

    Users requiring a new ID photo can schedule one using this link.

    Id photos and ID printing occur at the TSC desk in the Learning Commons.

    Please Note:

    • There is no charge for your first Pride Card.
    • Expired cards will be renewed at no charge (provided the card is turned in).
    • Lost or stolen cards can be replaced for a $50 fee.
