Can’t log in (Wi‑Fi included)? Follow these steps first
If you are a new student and have not claimed your credentials, follow the New User Activation instructions first.
Step 1. Visit https://password.springfield.edu and try to sign in. This site will immediately tell you if anything is wrong with your account.
Step 2. Check the message you receive and act accordingly:
| Message you see | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Authentication Failed | Username or password is incorrect | Follow the Reset Password process |
| Account Locked | Too many failed attempts | Follow the Fix Locked Account process |
| Password Expired | Your current password is out of date | Follow the Reset Password process |
| Account Disabled | Account requires manual review | Email the Technical Solutions Center at tsc@springfield.edu |
Step 3. After fixing the problem, wait about 10 minutes and then try signing in to the system again (Wi‑Fi included).
Most log in issues are password related. Different campus systems react to expired or locked passwords in different ways—some let you in for a brief period, others block you right away. The Password Management System is always the reliable source. If it reports a problem, fix it there first and most login issues will disappear.
