Update Your PaperCut Printing Password (macOS)
When you set up a new college Mac or change your password, you may need to re-enter your credentials for printing to Papercut.
What to do
1. Try printing a document
Send something to a PaperCut printer (look for “Papercut” in the printer name).
2.Check the Print Center in the Dock
If nothing prints, the Print Center icon will stay in your Dock.
3. Open the Print Center
Click the icon.
You’ll see your print job with the message: “Hold for Authentication.”
4. Unlock the job
On the right side of the job, click the small lock icon.
5. Enter your credentials
- Your college username
- Your college password
- Make sure “Save password” is selectedNote: If your password changed, your username may already be filled in, but the saved password will be wrong. Just enter your current password.

6. Click OK
What happens next
- If everything is correct, the job will disappear from the Print Center
- Go to the printer and scan your ID
- Your document will be ready to release
